Here I must link to the other view point, which is from Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy, famous for his disliking to the policies/ action of the then HEC chairman, Dr. Atta ur Rehman.
As a major milestone in this direction in April 2005, a travel report was submitted by KTH professors who had visited some prominent Pakistani universities, including GIKI, UET, and many others.
With worsening law and order condition in Pakistan over the following years, all foriegn universities gradually pulled out of these projects, including KTH from the university in Sialkot. However, the same project has now been taken over by Jönköping University. The man behind this continued support is Dr. Ramon Wyss, new Vice-president for International Affairs at JIBS (Jönköping Institute of Business Studies).
We have to keep our fingers crossed to see if sanity will ever prevail in this country! What's so wrong with us?
